October Chills & Thrills

by Rachel Smith

There’s several new movies giving us plenty of chills & thrills this October.

First up: the frightening follow-up to the successful Blumhouse hit, The Black Phone. The original cast answered the call to return for this scary sequel and star Mason Thames told us what it was like continuing his character’s story and going up against Ethan Hawke’s villainous “The Grabber.”

Mason Thames:

You can see Black Phone 2 in theaters Friday, October 17th.

Also hitting select theaters Friday is famed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro’s highly anticipated Frankenstein!

I had the chance to see the film at Netflix Studios in Los Angeles and interview the cast and I can tell you fans will not be disappointed; it is easily one of my favorite films of the year! Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordiboth give award worthy performances and Guillermo del Toro has given us another masterpiece. Try and see it in theaters if you can or check it out when it hits Netflix on November 7th.

If you’re looking for a different kind of thrill, check out the suspenseful new drama After the Hunt starring Julia Roberts in whole new light. The beloved actress playing an incredibly intense Yale professor forced to confront secrets from her own past when colleagues are embroiled in a scandal.

I got the chance to sit down with the actress and her co-star Michael Stuhlbarg to talk about her complex character.

Julia Roberts:

October isn’t just for serious scares and thrills, there’s new family fun hitting theaters compliments of Stitchhead.

The animated comedy is based off the bestselling book and arrives in theaters on Halloween.
